Panthers vs Oilers Betting Trends

The Panthers won both games against the Oilers this season. However, each game was a one-goal decision. Florida is 3-0 straight up in the past three games against Edmonton and 8-3 SU over the last 11 meetings. The Panthers are 5-3 SU in the last eight games played at Edmonton.

Florida is 5-1 SU in the last six games and 5-0 SU in the past five road games. The Panthers are 7-1 SU in the last eight meetings with Western Conference clubs.

The Oilers are 6-1 SU over the past seven games. Edmonton is 9-2 SU in the club's last 11 home games. However, the Oilers are 1-5 SU in the last six clashes with Atlantic Division squads.

The over has hit in six of the last seven games between Edmonton and Florida. At Rogers Place, the over is 5-1 through the past six games. In last spring's NHL final series, the over was 4-3.

Fourteen of Florida's past 19 games went over. However, four of the last five games the Panthers have played against Pacific Division opposition went under.

The under has come in on the total in each of Edmonton's past six games facing Eastern Conference teams. The total is 4-2-1 in the seven home games the Oilers have played in these NHL playoffs.

The Panthers are 11-7 SU as a betting underdog this season. Florida is 26-25 against the puck line as an away team. Edmonton is 19-29 against the puck line as the home club. The Oilers are 48-26-4 SU as the favorite in the betting line.

Trade Deadline Moves Paying Off For Panthers

Brad Marchand probably won't be in Florida for a long time, so he's trying to make it a good time. The pesky former Boston Bruins captain was acquired at the NHL trade deadline. An unrestricted free agent at season's end, he's likely heading elsewhere this summer.

For now though, Marchand has the Panthers heading in the right direction. He's counted 14 points in 17 NHL playoff games this spring and is plus-11. Marchand is working the second power play and anchoring the third line alongside Finns Anton Lundell and Eetu Luostarinen.

Defenseman Seth Jones, a trade deadline pick up from Chicago, is also delivering the goods. His puck moving and mobility are proving to be quite the asset along the Florida blueline. Jones has three goals in the playoffs.

Perry An NHL Final Good Luck Charm

For the fifth time in six years, Edmonton forward Corey Perry is playing in the Stanley Cup final. His streak started with the 2020 Dallas Stars. It continued through the 2021 Montreal Canadiens and 2022 Tampa Bay Lightning. After a one-year absence, he was back again last spring with the Oilers.

There's just one concern with considering Perry to be a good luck charm, however. While he certainly has proven adept at getting his teams to the final, none of the aforementioned clubs were able to win the Stanley Cup. Perry's only Stanley Cup win came with the Anaheim Ducks in 2007.

Florida vs Edmonton NHL Playoffs Best Bet

In last spring's Cup final series, Edmonton fell behind 3-0. Although the Oilers would rally to win the next three games, they lost the Cup in Game 7. This time around, it's essential that Edmonton makes use of home-ice advantage to get the rematch off to a successful start.
